7 Bad Eating Habits That Ruin Your Weight Loss Goal

When it comes to losing weight, the way you eat might be very important as well as what you eat. It’s not just unhealthy food that lead to overweight, but also bad eating habits that result in weight gain.

Following is a list of the top prevalent bad eating habits, check if you have got some of them:

#1 – Skipping Breakfast

Eating breakfast gets you on track to make healthy choices all day. When you skip breakfast, you may feel ravenous later and be tempted to reach for a quick fix, such as candy from the vending machine. In addition, prolonged fasting — which occurs when you skip breakfast – can increase your body’s insulin response, which in turn increases fat storage and weight gain. In fact, skipping breakfast actually increases your risk of obesity.

#2 – Late Dinners

With our busy lives we are always tempted to put off dinner until the last minute. Later in the day, your body does not digest things as fast. Therefore, if you eat something that late, your body will not be able to digest it completely overnight, because your metabolism slows down when you sleep, and the food that doesn’t get digested ends up as extra fat.

#3 – Eating too fast

I’ll bet that you believe your stomach will send signals when you are full. However, it has been several minutes late by the time your brain tell you the fact. You have overeaten during that period. By eating chewy foods in a relaxed manner, you will be much less likely to overeat.

#4 – Eating on the Go

Eating on the go is really a unhealthy eating habit that most people engage in at one time or another. A busy lifestyle makes it impractical to enjoy a relaxed and leisurely meal for many people. The problem with eating on the run is it leads to the wrong food choices, people are tend to choose fast foods to finish a quick lunch and it usually forces a person to eat too fast.

#5 – Not Drinking Enough Water

So many modern food products created today not only contain high amounts of energy from added sugar and fats, but very little water in order to be stored for long period. It may be great foods stock. However, the trouble is, it means less water intake from foods. Water is crucial for your brain cells and organs in your body to work properly. Water not only satisfies your thirst, it reduces appetite and maintain metabolism. To burn fat, it requires at least eight glasses of pure water daily. Liquids such as soda and coffee actually deplete your body of water.

#6 – Eating while watching TV

This is another bad eating habit that causes weight gain. People who are distracted by their favorite reality show quickly lose track of how much they’re eating. The key to eating less is to focus in on the experience of eating rather than what’s happening on the tube. Learn to appreciate the sight, smell, and taste of food and savor each mouthful. By doing this, food becomes more satisfying and fulfilling – even in smaller quantities.

#7 – Large Sugar Intake

Getting in the habit of eating something sweet after every meal is adding pound after pound to the weight you are already trying to lose. It is high in calories and almost devoid of nutrients. Sugar here I mentioned is not just white sugar that needs to be consumed in moderation; brown sugar, powdered sugar, honey, and syrup are all sources of refined sugar. Eating too much sugar is part of an addictive cycle. When you eat sugar, it’s quickly digested and burned, and it causes peaks and valleys in your energy level that leaves you craving more.

If you’ve got any of bad eating habits listed above, just take immediate action to break them. You’ll be benefited from what you did.
